Living in Alignment

Living in Alignment

This past year was good to me. It wasn’t perfect, but I have to say I lived fully in ALIGNMENT.

Living in alignment is when your thoughts, life choices, and direction all honor your core values.

My definition of alignment is THOUGHTS = WORDS = ACTIONS

For years, I knew exactly what I needed to do to build a better life, but for whatever reason I just never made the best decisions.

In 2022, I was committed to doing what I said I was going to do… for MYSELF.

It’s easy for me to fulfill my commitments to others, but I always fall short with the promises I make to myself. Not this year!

These are some of the adjustments I made

1. I said NO- No is a complete sentence. It doesn’t need an explanation. I learned to be comfortable saying no to tasks that I don’t really want to do and things I can’t fit into my schedule.

2. I under promised, but over delivered- Just like being able to say NO, I started to be more realistic with my deliverables. I stopped saying I can have something complete in a few days. I also started to keep track of how long it would take me to actually complete certain tasks and projects.

3. I maintained a S.T.A.S.H.- A S.T.A.S.H is Savings That Are Accessible for Situations and Hardships. A major part of me living in my alignment is not being in survival mode. Having money set aside for emergencies and upcoming life events makes it easier to live in the present.

4. I built my own planner- Over the years, I used so many different planners and journals and none of them seemed to fit perfectly with my lifestyle. I could not find what I wanted so I made my own. I made the template available in the member’s only section.

5. I prepared for Mercury retrograde- Three times a year, the planet Mercury appears to travel backward across the sky. We refer to these periods as Mercury retrograde. Traditionally it’s associated with confusion, delay, and frustration. But not for me. I ride the retrograde wave by not finalizing new plans, buying electronics or launching new products during this time. I use retrograde to show my consistency and reflect on my alignment.

Part of being in alignment is going with the ebbs and flows of life. Life will be full of Highs and every now and then you will encounter lows. What’s important is how much we can enjoy our highs and how prepared we are for our lows.
